Global engineering and project management firm Wood said Monday it has secured a “multi-million dollar” contract in the Duqm refinery and petrochemicals project, located along Oman’s southeastern coast.

The contract (no value revealed) covers the supply of two double-fired delayed coker heaters and is due to be completed in the first quarter of 2020. It follows on the company’s delivery of the project’s engineering and process design phase – both pre-FEED and FEED. Wood is also supplying project management services for Duqm.
The complex is being developed by the Duqm Refinery and Petrochemicals Industries Co., a joint venture between Oman Oil Co. and Kuwait Petroleum International. Once operational, it will process roughly 230,000 barrel per day (Bpd) of crude.
“We are delighted to continue to support the development of Duqm refinery and will draw on our experience of delivering our market-leading delayed coking technology and proprietary equipment at greenfield refineries across the globe,” said Bob MacDonald, CEO of Wood’s specialist technical solutions business.
