    Duqm Quarries SAOC is a company registered under the Special Economic Zone Authority, Duqm with representatives from Oman Company for the Development of Special Economic Zone, Duqm and other local companies in Oman. Duqm Quarries SAOC would supply all types of raw- materials from quarries and mining sites to the projects under construction. The Company seeks to employ the expertise with the following skills:

    Materials Engineer
    (ME.18.01)
    1Duties & Responsibilites
    • Field survey and investigations, mapping and soil classifications,
    • Collection of soil samples from various project's intended site, using bores and test pits. Amongst other factors, the analysis will determine the ground's stress bearing capability and stability.
    • Determining after research into soil quality and stress-bearing factors, whether issues like erosion, settlement and slope will pose a safety risk to the proposed project.
    • Monitoring of sampling and testing procedure.
    • Provide quality control guidelines and assisting project management to maintain the same.
    • Carrying out field testing and analyses of the test data.
    • Monitoring of the laboratory testing and should be quite versant in carrying out different field tests and data analysis and reporting.
    • Undertake other tasks related to his field of expertise to achieve the successful completion of the project.
    • Considering the implications for waste and other environmental pollution issues of any product or process.
    • Assessing materials for specific qualities (such as electrical conductivity, durability, renewability).
    Qualification & Experience
    • Bachelor's degree in materials science or materials engineering.
    • Minimum 5 years’ experience in similar field.
    Skills
    • Good communication skills for presenting technical data, both in writing and orally, to colleagues from your discipline and other professionals.
    • Commercial awareness.
    • An interest in scientific and technical issues and, for some positions, a real interest in a specific type of product.
    • The ability to priorities and plan effectively.
    Quantity Surveyor
    (QS.18.01)
    1Duties & Responsibilites
    • Price/forecast the cost of the different materials needed for the project.
    • Prepare tender documents, contracts, budgets, bills of quantities and other documentation
    • Track changes to the design and/or construction work and adjusting budget projections accordingly.
    • Procure or agree the services of contractors and/or subcontractors who work on the construction of the project
    • Preparation of contracts, including details regarding quantities of required materials.
    • Conduct the analysis for the survey data collected from the site to prepare cutting and filling reports.
    • Measure and value the work done on site and Quantify the production on daily and monthly basis and report to the line manager.
    • Prepare the invoices based on the sales data.
    • Organize the machinery time sheets.
    • Control the fuel consumption for machineries.
    • Should be able to work in field and office.
    Qualification & Experience
    • Bachelor's degree in Civil or structural engineering.
    • Minimum 6 years’ experience in similar field.
    Skills
    • A good working knowledge of MS Excel, Auto CAD, Auto CAD CIVIL3D or equivalent application and the ability to learn how to use specialist software
    • Good knowledge to utilize the survey devices (GPS, Total-station and Leveling Devices)
    • Excellent relationship-building and interpersonal skills.
    • Teamworking & Numeracy
    • Attention to detail and a methodical approach to work.
    Driver Code
    (DQ.18.01)
    1Duties & Responsibilites
    • Transport the machineries operators from the accommodation to sites early morning an accordance to our working time.
    • Transport the operators to the accommodation at evening in accordance to our working time.
    • Drive the diesel tanker to feed the machineries at sites day by day.
    • Supply the food for the staff at sites.
    • Doing the office works as required such us the cars services, drop the staff from and to the airport …
    • Work occasional evenings and weekends.
    Qualification & Experience
    • High secondary school.
    • Have PDO light/heavy license.
    Weighbridge Operators
    (WO.18.01)
    2Duties & Responsibilites
    • Checking and logging drivers’ details as they come in and out of the site.
    • Ensure all bills been collect and organize.
    • Booking other site visitors in and out updating records on computer systems.
    • Answering phone enquiries.
    • Dealing with other administrative tasks.
    • Control the trucks access, road barriers and the vehicles movement at site.
    Qualification & Experience
    • Diploma in accountant /administrative, with 3 years’ experience.
